Peace

The world today is competitive and in turmoil, but if a person finds Peace in himself, it all becomes serene.

An internal equilibrium has to be achieved to ease your mind, body and soul. It all comes from within you. When a person is able to figure out solutions for his problems, it is the time he finds himself at peace. The fact to be realised is that all may not happen the way you want but there is definitely a rather good reason behind it not happening.

Sometimes you gain, sometimes you lose. It’s all give and take in the world. When you give away a wish of yours, someone else’s might get fulfilled! The peace derived from such a feeling is beyond explanation in words.

We become impatient in situations which do not happen as per our choice. The most important discovery in life is discovering who you are, what do you actually and really and need and what makes you happy?

Will you let some unnecessary desire dictate your soul? If you can say NO to this with conviction, you are victorious! Real peace comes only when your body desires your soul’s success.

When I was 21, I used to foresee and wonder how I make myself happy. I desired a big house and a vast business empire. In order to achieve these, I started working day and night. I analysed situations, figured out the plan of action and gave myself ample time to enact and accomplish my goals. As they say, Rome was not built in a day! On similar grounds, it took me fifteen years to make it all happen.

Learning and growing is a never-ending process. Greatness comes when you are not at war with your soul.

My father was in Air force and our house was a simple small home, nothing magnificent. I belong to a very subtle family. People in the society used to judge on the basis of materialistic possessions like our house. I felt dissatisfied by these judgements and my soul was in turmoil. Eureka! I found a solution to it. I went to Rashtrapati Bhawan and declared that it was mine. It gave me relief and peace of mind.

Another day, I went to India gate and called the gardeners. I offered them tea and snacks and ordered them to work properly. In my heart, I said “Work properly, otherwise you’ll be fired.” And felt like a boss. These gestures made me who I am today. It urged me to dream and strive for peace.

That is why, I recommend these simple mantras- DISCOVER yourself, FIND OUT your problems, THINK of solutions, if you can’t find one LET IT GO!

I end with a famous quote of Mother Teresa, “Peace begins with a smile.” So keep facing problems with a positive attitude and strive to maintain equilibrium between your mind, body and soul!
